Magnosphere™ MS160/Carboxyl & MS300/Carboxyl are magnetic particles especially for high purity bioseparation. The surface of these particles are covered with hydrophilic polymer for reducing non-specific binding. The carboxyl group allows the binding of the probe molecules.
Antibodies, proteins and nucleic acids can be immobilized on the surface for immunoassay, immunoprecipitation, western blot or nucleic acid hybridization.

20S proteasome is a protein which composed of 28 subunits: 14 a-subunits and 14 b-subunits that form a four stacked ring. The anti-20S proteasome alpha 6 monoclonal antibody (Biomol International, L.P., clone MCP20) was conjugated to Magnosphere™ MS300/Carboxyl. The Magnosphere™ particles with the antibody was then used to immunoprecipitate the 20S proteasome complex from a Jurkat cell lysate (30 mg protein).
High-purity proteasome complexes (α1 ~ α7, β1 ~ β7) were recovered in Magnosphere™ MS300/Carboxyl.
