Background | Product description: β2-Glycoprotein I has been implicated in a variety of physiologic pathways including lipoprotein metabolism, coagulation, and the production of antiphospholipid autoantibodies. β2-Glycoprotein I may be a required cofactor for anionic phospholipid binding by the antiphospholipid autoantibodies found in sera of many patients with lupus and primary antiphospholipid syndrome, but it does not seem to be required for the reactivity of antiphospholipid autoantibodies associated with infections. Residues 20-345 of human β2-Glycoprotein I were cloned, the protein was over-expressed in HEK293EBNA1 cells and purified to homogeneity. The protein is identical to product G002, of which the N-terminal TEV-protease cleavable hexahistidine tag has been removed. The calculated molecular weight of recombinant human β2-Glycoprotein I, residues 20-345, is 36.4 kDa. Reference sequences: Swiss-prot P02749 |
