Background EGF-containing fibulin-like extracellular matrix protein 1 (EFEMP1), also known as fibulin-3, belongs to the fibulin family of extracellular matrix glycoproteins, and shares a common structure that includes multiple calcium-binding EGF domains and a carboxyl-terminal fibulin domain. EFEMP1 plays a role in cell adhesion and migration, and is expressed in various cancer types.
