Background	N(6)-methyladenosine (m⁶A) is one of the most abundant modified nucleosides found in some viral RNA and eukaryotic RNA including mRNA, tRNA, rRNA and lncRNA. It has been reported that m⁶A modification is involved in the regulation of mRNA export, stability and translation. YTH N(6)-methyladenosine RNA binding protein 2 (YTHDF2), functioning as m⁶A reader protein, is involved in methylation-dependent RNA degradation. YTHDF2 selectively binds to m⁶A-containing RNA through its C-terminal domain and its N-terminal domain is required for localization of the protein-m⁶A-containing RNA complex to P-body.
