Background C11orf24 gene encodes a 449-amino acid protein and has a calculated molecular weight of 46.1 kDa. RNA transcription of C11orf24 is observed in the heart, placenta, liver, pancreas, and colon. C11orf24 protein is a putative type I membrane molecule, but its molecular function and ligands have not been characterized.
