Background | Human hemoglobin is consists from heterotetramer of two alpha chains and two non-alpha chains, and each poly peptide chain binds one heme. 3 types of hemoglobin, HbA(α2β2), HbA2(α2δ2) and HbF(α2γ2), presents in normal adults. The synthesis of HemoglobinA(HbA) increases after the birth , whereas Hemoglobin F (HbF) rapidly declines to extremely about 1% or less of the whole by the age of 1 year. HbF-containing cells are minor erythrocytes in normal adults, however, detects in fetus and in patients with aplastic anemia, MDS,hemoglobinopathies, and malignancies affecting the erythropoietic system. | |
