Background Ly6k（lymphocyte antigen 6 complex, locus K）は主に精巣で発現しているGPIアンカー型タンパク質です。同じくGPIアンカー型タンパク質であるTex101（Testis expressed gene 101）と複合体を形成することが知られています。Tex101またはLy6kをそれぞれ欠損させた精子は、形態や運動性の面では正常であり、体外受精は可能ですが、生体内においては子宮から卵管に移行することができず不妊となることから、Tex101/Ly6k複合体は精子の受精能獲得に重要な働きをしていると考えられています。
